As part of my Perth trip photo collection, this photo was taken at night from the viewing platform at Kings Park located within 10 minutes from the CBD.
Kings Park which overlooks Perth CBD, is also known to be one of the world’s largest and beautiful inner city parks. It’s a local attraction, and a place usually recommended by locals for visitors to see.
Kings Park is maintained as a botanic garden and according to tourism information is home to approximately 3,000 species of Western Australia’s unique flora. We went to Kings Park during one of the afternoon, and at the time there was a spring festival of wild flowers happening, with heaps of people around, music and festivities occurring, the vibe was awesome.
We literally had to take a free shuttle bus ride around the park to get back to our car parking spot. However, upon seeing the views of Perth from the viewing areas, I made a mental note to come back at night and shoot a photo of the city lights. After seeing the results of the photos, it’s definitely a photo to treasure.
If you’re a traveler and happen to also land in Perth for a visit or a tour, definitely worth checking out Kings Park and seeing what festivals are on (seems to be something going on almost all the time there). Or if you’re like me, a shutter bug at heart, definitely worth taking a shot of the city from Kings Park at night.
Please feel free to comment, and share your experiences / thoughts, if you’ve ever been there or thinking about going there.
