Hi and thank you for coming to visit the site and wanting to know a bit more about me and my photographs.
In high school, I was always a little creative, and started first with drawing and sketching then at one stage having a little interest in watercolor painting. One of my high school subject (before VCE) was black and white film photography. I recall it to be a very fun class, most especially because it wasn’t the standard boring school work, but we were able to wander around the school grounds just snapping pics. Playing around with the settings on the camera I learned that you can be just as creative and expressive with photographs as you can with drawing. Though, it wasn’t until early 2005 that I managed to buy my first DSLR (Pentax *ist DL), which I still fondly have, and you can see in my collections some of the photos that I have previously snapped with the camera.
I am by no means a professional photographer, but I do enjoy creating imagery with photographs. I am in the ICT industry by profession, but Photography goes seamlessly well with it as hobby, due to the use software and technology in the modern DSLR era of the hobby.
In my collections and blogs of photographs, I try to convey the images I see in my travels. Interesting and creative images to me, are what I am striving snap and share to the people who enjoy it. Mostly though, I love great landscapes, and artistic type of photography. However, in recent times, I am experimenting with more portraiture photography. At the end of the day, I enjoy all genre of photography. It’s like anything though, images in photographs are subjective to the person viewing it. You either like it … or it’s a bit meh.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy the site. I always appreciate feedback, both negative and positive. I most enjoy comments which lets me know, what, how and why the photograph works or doesn’t work for the commentator.
Thank you,
Michael Rhodes
