Araluen Botanic Park – Stream

I went to Perth recently for a holiday with my family, and to also attend my cousin’s wedding (‘onya couda). Perth is a wonderful city with a lot of great sites to see and explore. I couldn’t rate the CBD as highly though in comparison to Australia larger cities like Sydney or Melbourne, however of note is Kings Park which gives an amazing view of Perth. In my next few blogs, I will cover and put up a photo that I took at Kings Park.

Back to this photo though, during one of my outing days, we visited the Araluen Botanic Park. A great place to spend a day for picnics and as the name suggests, a lot of opportunities to see the plantations of flowers and the like. I will also post up some flower photos I took whilst there in the upcoming blogs.

This shot of the stream with water cascading down, is really a great image of a miniature waterfall. When I captured the scene, I thought how serene this place was. I had to stand practically in the middle of the stream with my camera resting on a large boulder to capture this shot to allow a long exposure shot of the scene. I also had to use an ND filter to reduce the amount of light as it was broad daylight when the shot was taken.
