Marysville is one of the best picnic places in my personal opinion that is close to Melbourne (only approximately 1.5hr drive). Just 15-25min from Healesville, the drive is well worth it. I went there with my family on a recent long weekend to enjoy the day to relax. Excellent children’s play ground, with a flying fox available for the brave and BBQ facility for those who are well provisioned.
After we had a wonderful lunch at the Marysville Bakery, we decided to check out the water fall attraction nearby. This is Steavenson Falls, the sound of the rushing water and the magnificent view of the falls that is practically at the base leaves you with a lasting impression. Considering the area had been devastated by bush fires several years earlier, the regrowth of the area and re-development of the town is nothing short of spectacular.
